The Coalition for a Sustainable Built Environment is an alliance of building industry companies and professionals who work with government to advance policy change that fosters buildings that are safe, sustainable and economically vibrant.

The buildings where people spend 90 percent of their time are major consumers of natural resources like water and energy, as well as man-made materials whose production, use and disposal impact the public's health.  In turn, the building industry generates billions of dollars of economic activity each year and creates millions of well-paying jobs in every state and region.

Sustainable buildings are a win-win, for the environment and the economy.

• To serve as a clearinghouse of information about federal policy trends that impact the sustainability of the built environment.

• To keep the building industry informed about the latest federal policies and proposals that impact the sustainability of the built environment.

• To educate federal policymakers on the critical role that the building industry plays in fostering a sustainable, safe and economically vibrant economy.

• To advance policies that empower the building industry to design, construct, operate and maintain sustainable buildings.
